WHO IS BEHIND THE SCENES Kelly Householder CFII, AGI, ME Commercial IFR I think I might have been conceived in an airplane but I haven’t been able to get the full story on that one yet! I started flying at a young age and I have always had a passion for aviation and planes of all types. I grew up on the lap of my fathers who was a crop duster and a fire bomber. My father and I spent many hours together over the years with me seated in some type of aircraft flying around the country ranging from piper 140 to a Turbine Aero Commander. I solo’d in a glider at the age of 14 in the Tehachapi desert and then took a break until I was 21 when I attained my PPL. I took another break for 15 years after having my two boys and did not have the chance to fly much. Both of my boys are now into aviation as much or more than I am and one is a private pilot working on his IFR ticket. The other son is PPL working toward experience to start his IFR rating. I have the rare opportunity to fly with, and teach many pilots in planes ranging from archers to King Air 200’s and I consider every flight a blessing. I teach and fly a wide variety of aircraft make and models. From traditional Pipers, Cessnas to state of the art G1000 and G500 glass cockpit aircraft, such as the Cirrus and Cessna 340 / 414. Brighton Householder I started flying when I was 14, that was it, I had the bug. It’s a funny thing when you are capable of flying a plane before legally being able to drive a car. I’m currently a Commercial pilot and have progressed in my career with charter jobs ranging from PC-12, Citation 1 and Citation III as well as my current flying career as a Citation XL pilot. I am a contributor and partner in Warnock Air, LLC and I enjoy writing and building out helpful information for up and coming young pilots.
