NOTAM Jeremiah 29:13 Amplified Bible (AMP) 13 Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

In our last Sunday service we were challenged with getting serious about seeking the Lord.. I found this a healthy challenge.  Serious can also be used to denote vital, such as serious as a heart attack, or vital signs that are serious.

In aviation we have so many aspects that are serious, and also many that are vital.  It takes “serious” planning to be sure you make your destination with fuel reserves, in proper CG and at the right weight.  It’s “serious” if you break a regulation.  It’s “vital” that you keep current because it’s a “serious” matter if you dont.  I could go on all day long with the word play on this one.  However, the key the ties me back into being serious is a bit off the verbal path.

A nice lady in our small group put it this way.  If we are “serious” about it we don’t worry about Plan B or C we focus on having “A” Plan.  When I step into PIC I’m always looking for out’s or Plan B’s.  If I’m on an approach to minimums, I know I have a plan B.  Missed approach to the Alternate or back in to try again.  If I’m going to go into potential ice conditions I always plan my out’s.  But when it comes to seeking God we should be abandon to having a Plan B or an out.  it’s too easy to find ways out and not stick to it for the long haul, not getting serious about it, doing our missed approach to our alternate that fits our style better.

5-T’s:  Are you going with Plan A or do you have a missed approach programmed into your response to God’s calling on your life?  Is your plan A focused on the following?

  • Time:
  • Talent:
  • Treasure:
  • Testimony:
  • Tithe:

NAV LOG: What if you get up tomorrow and try Plan A only and accept the challenge of getting serious about seeking the Lord?  I know for me I have to take that challenge head on.  I encourage you to do the same today.

PIREP (Prayer Time): Lord, guide me to be abandon to your calling and to strip out my other plans for the one and only plan that matters, your direction for my life in seeking you every day.
