Day 32 – IMC to VFR on top

NOTAM: Matt 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”
For any of us who have either trained or been with another pilot flying in IMC you quickly learn that 1sm of visibility and 500ft is not someting you can take lightly. Even after I finished my IFR checkride, my personal limits told me that I’d want to wait until I went to hard minimums. I think one of the coolest parts of flying IFR is when you break out on top and the sun is shining and the world below you is put into a whole new light. You are the light of the world. This verse is so foundational to our walk with Christ. IMC can kill you, like walking without a foundation leads ultimately to death so does IMC is your not a prepared pilot. Knowing how to fly IFR, and practicing often is like learning to walk in the life that the Lord had given you and being guided every day by His word. We might think of the bible as an approach plate that guides us in times of low visibility and limited view. Without the guide we are flying blind and off course.

5T’s: From the verse above, ask yourself how you  line up with the 5 T’s today.

NavLog:  Are you guided every day by the Word, does it soak into you and give you a view to guide you thru the Enemy’s banter?

PIREP:  Lord be my guide today and every day.  Give me strength to live out your Word and be guided by the Holy Spirit.  Let me be disciplined for your Army.
