Day 33 – Cold Soaked Engines

Always a good time for a pre-heater!

January 16th – Cold Soaked Engines

NOTAM: January 16th  – The Cold Soaked Engine Acts:16:21-23

Acts:16:22-23  The crowd joined in the attack against Paul and Silas, and the magistrates ordered them to be stripped and beaten with rods. 23 After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully.

Have you ever had to deal with a cold soaked engine on a 9°F day?  You get in you try and prime, try and start but the battery, the engine, the fuel, the oil all seem to come against you in ways that can only be defeated by getting your hands on a pre-heater.  Paul and Silas must have felt Cold Soaked with their bodies struggling to survive as they were taken to a cold dark prison after being stripped, beaten with rods and flogged.  Pre-Heaters are an amazing tool and they are very efficient at warming up all the the mechanics of an engine not only to help start it but to help from destroying an engine.  Paul undoubtedly started and continued to pray and I have no doubt that he was pre-heated by the Holy Spirit as his body and his physical being were being cold soaked the Holy Spirit brought him Life.  We later see the power of Pauls dedication to the Lord and his Prayers have a net positive effect in the cold damp prison and those around him.  This to me seems like what we know as that ever diligent pre-heater sitting with the tubes in the front of the engine bringing what was once dead and cold to life, to take flight and spread the wings of His Glory.
